Twinkles can only be bonded to a living tooth.

1. Make sure you and your client agree on the exact placement of the gem. Place a dry cotton roll between the tooth and upper lip. Clean the entire tooth surface by rubbing in steady up and down motions with dry cotton.

2. Apply the blue gel to a surface larger than where the gem will be placed. Let the gel act for 20 seconds. Remove the gel by wiping the tooth from top to bottom with a dry cotton roll. Then with a damp cotton, thoroughly clean the tooth surface from top to bottom to eliminate all traces of gel and prevent any contact with the palate. With dry cotton, dry the tooth until you achieve a white frosted surface. This is essential to achieve a strong bond of the gem. If you fail to achieve a frosted surface, repeat the gel application phase.

3. Apply a thin layer of adhesive to the frosted surface using the brush.

4. Apply the flowable composite to a surface slightly larger than the gem and approximately the same thickness.

5. Pick up the gem and place it in the center of the composite. Move your gem slightly so there is sufficient adhesive around the gem. Press on the gem to secure it in place with the applicator.
