Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about tooth gems
What is a tooth gem? +A tooth gem, also called a dental jewel, is a small crystal (Swarovski or Preciosa) bonded to the surface of the tooth using a special dental glue. It is a 100% safe, painless and reversible fashion accessory that adds a touch of sparkle to your smile.
Does applying a tooth gem damage the teeth? +
No, absolutely not! The application uses the same technique and glue as for orthodontic braces. No drilling or tooth preparation is required. The gem can be removed at any time without leaving a mark or damaging the tooth enamel.
How long does a tooth gem last? +
A properly applied tooth gem can last from 6 months to several years depending on your oral hygiene and eating habits. On average, our customers keep their tooth gem between 1 and 2 years.
Can you eat and drink normally with a tooth gem? +
Yes, absolutely! Once the gem is applied (wait 24h for complete polymerisation of the glue), you can eat, drink, brush your teeth and use dental floss normally. Just avoid biting directly into very hard foods with the adorned tooth.
What is the difference between Swarovski and Preciosa? +
Swarovski (Austria) and Preciosa (Czech Republic) are the two world leaders in high-quality crystals. Both offer exceptional sparkle and brilliance. Swarovski is better known to the general public, while Preciosa offers excellent value for money with equivalent quality. We offer both certified authentic brands.
How much does tooth gem application cost? +
The price varies depending on the professional and the type of crystal chosen. On average, expect between 30 EUR and 80 EUR for an application with a quality crystal. Our professional kits allow trained practitioners to offer this service with an excellent margin.
Who can apply tooth gems? +
The application can be performed by dentists, trained beauticians, or dental prosthetists. We offer certified training (online or in-person) that allows mastering the technique in one day. Over 500 professionals have been trained by Strass Dentaires.
Is training mandatory? +
Although not legally regulated, training is strongly recommended to guarantee a safe and lasting application. Our training includes theory, practice on a training jaw, and an official certificate. You also receive a complete kit to start your business.
Do you deliver to Belgium and Switzerland? +
Yes! We deliver throughout France, Belgium, Switzerland and all of Europe. Delivery is fast (24-72h depending on destination) and careful. Shipping is free from 80 EUR of purchase.
How to remove a tooth gem? +
Removal is simple and painless. A professional uses a special tool to gently unstick the gem, then lightly polishes the tooth to remove glue residue. The operation takes less than 5 minutes and the tooth returns to its initial state.
